Senior Moments, Thrift Stores, and Turkey Posole Chili?

Does this “Play Arrow Icon” make my nostril look big?

November 11 was our FIRST morning in our new Casita, camping at McKinney Falls State Park.  Woo Hoo!  Our day was dedicated to gathering things we wanted and needed to make our little home away from home (and future source of income) comfortable, easy to use, and adorable.  Speaking of comfort, high on the list was to get yet another layer of foam topper for the beds.  Like Goldilocks, this little princess needs her bed to be… just right.  And we’ve learned with our Airbnb glamper (That 70s Tow) that having a delicious bed ranks highly with guests, so we need to make sure when people on Outdoorsy rent our little Casita Bonita, they’ll be delighted with their sleeping accommodations.

We spent hours and hours shopping thrift stores in Austin. We almost got ourselves kicked out of Goodwill! :0  After hiking through forests of used goods, we made one last stop at a Super Target for groceries (and those foam toppers).  Back at the Casita, MB practiced her Instant Pot skills creating her own version of chili which included hominy and corn (thanks to impulsive cravings at the grocery store.)  Much to her surprise, it was delicious AND healthy.

We are both severely lacking in our video skills, as you will see, but we bumble along and have fun anyway.  One day we will figure it out.

Until next time, think outside the box, remember what’s important, take risks, enjoy every moment, be imperfect, and laugh a lot. ~ MB & Don

OH! Be sure to check out our Casita Independence video tour post and video so you can see the before and after!
